DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN FROM HOMEBASE!.We have just finished our kitchen after buying it from homebase craigavon in Sept 2018.We bought our kitchen and we were assigned a homebase approved builder - Andy Brough. (reason we bought was because we wanted removal/installation included). Designer and builder attended our home and planned the install and provided a quote. We were happy with all.A few weeks before work due to start, we brought dates forward to suit builder as he had another job in Dublin. The night before work due to start builder called to say he had forgotten to book tiler, but said it wouldn't matter and the work could continue and the tiling would be done in about 4 weeks (We wanted wall to wall tiles so it couldnt). We were annoyed but wanted to continue. When we asked when he had realised he hadn't booked tiler, the builder had a breakdown and decided he could no longer work with us as we were questioning his integrity(used as an excuse to drop our job and start much bigger Dublin job earlier). This left us with a kitchen being delivered the following day but no builder. After a sleepless night I called the store in craigavon to speak to the designer. Unfortunately the designer had left and we were advised the builder was no longer on their approved list. The building work had been due to start in November but we were advised there were no homebase builders available till new year. Due to several events due to be held at our house this was not an option. Homebase held on to the delivery whilst we sourced our own tradesman. Although we managed to get our own tradesman, the cost by far exceeded what we were meant to pay the homebase builder. On top of this, myself and my father in law had to remove the full kitchen, floor tiles and hire a skip. When work started, the kitchen fitters only had basic designs to work from as the designer had left. Although they managed to put together the kitchen and utility room, it is not what we ordered and there were lots of excess materials. This was also the same for the electrician. This has been a terrible experience and has been really stressful for the whole family. We only bought the kitchen from homebase a we were told all the kitchen removal and installation etc would be included. We are now left with a kitchen which is not what we ordered and a much higher installation bill.I believe we were mislead when buying the kitchen as the designer added lots of features which were not even used. I have complained to homebase craigavon and they have refunded some of the excess materials. They refuse to take the complaint any further as they had nothing to do with the builder. This is not the case as the designer called the builder from the store whilst we were there and they both met at our house. They were also clearly friends. I also believe that homebase should have told us that the designer and builder were no longer associated with the company. All in all, a terrible experience and we are now complaining to the ombudsman. I urge anyone considering buying a homebase kitchen to reconsider. Prior to this experience, I visited the store at least twice a week. Needless to say our family now boycott until the matter is resolved.
Good range of products although the shop floor has got very messy.
